I had a strong working relationship with Virendra, going back to late 90s, when he started up Qualex Systems. My EMC org, Celerra NAS Engineering, has benefited from very significant system work done under Virendra's guidance at Qualex. Over the years, I watched Qualex grow into an extremely competent and productive development org, in the NAS and file system space (my domain) in particular. Virendra, whose high professionalism, integrity, energy and technical acumen I have greatly appreciated over the years of collaboration, has been the keystone of this successful process. I would also highly commend Virendra for his business sense and ability to foster and grow an enterprise -- he would be a priceless asset for any high tech company that is interested in developing an operation offshore.


I have had the pleasure of working with QualEx Systems since its inception in 2000. During this period, QualEx Systems has undertaken several key projects for us in areas of File Systems, Data Protection, System Management, User Interfaces, and QA. The work has consistently exceeded all expectations, and the team has delivered high quality software to aggressive schedules. Virendra has instilled in his team a passion for innovation, quality, and results. Virendra and others in the team have co-authored three patents in the File System and Data Protection space and have been responsible for several innovative ideas that have been incorporated into our product.

I have found Virendra to be a very strong leader and manager. During 2004, we had to grow from five to thirty engineers within eight months. Virendra managed this quantum leap effortlessly. He closely oversaw the hiring process as well as the integration of new hires into the company, and the entire high-growth phase completed successfully with minimal disruption to product deliverables. Virendra empowers his team and stays closely connected to them, and his team, in turn, is very loyal to him. Virendra also is an excellent recruiter. He has hired very senior and capable engineers and managers in his team and created an environment in which they can grow and flourish.

The QualEx teams were very integrated with our teams and worked in parallel as equal members of the team. QualEx has always been very responsive to our need. Clearly, achieving a perfect score on this dimension is best achieved by leveraging further economies of scale, but the responsiveness was more than appropriate. We always felt very comfortable providing requirements at a level where QualEx had to come up with the design and implementation ideas. We were always delighted with the innovativeness presented in their solutions. New features and bug fixes were always delivered on time and at high quality (no regressions). Through their excellent training and mentoring program, QualEx prepared their engineers well before they were assigned to projects or code maintenance. Every one of them demonstrated high competency.

Customer issues were always handled promptly at highest priority. QualEx engineers made them self available, regardless if it was after regular working hours or on weekends. Features were always delivered on time. Bug fixes were delivered in a very predictable way with timely updates on fix status.
